Description

As part of our commitment to giving back to the organisations we work with, TPP Recruitment would like to invite you to our FREE Finance Breakfast Seminar with guest speaker, Neal Gilmore, Charities Principal, HW Fisher & Co.

Seminar topic:

Whistle-blowing to the Charity Commission by Auditors and Independent/Examiners

Since last year auditors and independent examiners of charities have been required by law to report matters of material significance to the Charity Commission which they become aware of. There is no requirement to discuss this with the charity. This seminar will help you understand the background to these changes and what they mean.

Furthermore, there are a number of discretionary matters that auditors and independent examiners may report if they feel the charity is not addressing issues which in the future could become more significant problems.

The seminar will look at these areas and what charities should be doing to further best practice and good governance.

Guest speaker: Neal Gilmore, Charities Principal, HW Fisher & Co.

Neal Gilmore

Neal qualified with a north London firm where he was introduced to the not-for-profit sector, as well as working for many years on large commercial clients and co-operative businesses. In addition to overseeing some of the firm’s larger and more complex charity audit clients, he advises on Gift Aid, financial management and provides regular training courses for trustees and staff. He believes in meeting with clients regularly to keep in touch and up-to-date with their affairs.

Neal studied Environmental Biology at Oxford Polytechnic. He was formerly a treasurer for the Sutton, Kingston and Epsom Branch of Parkinson’s UK, a treasurer for the British Association of Music Therapy and a Section Assistant for his local Beaver Scouts Group.
